My Personalization Nightmare
I regularly look for creative or striking gifts for Christmas. However, if anyone out there thinks that shopping for personalized presents is like shopping for ordinary presents, do think again. Think hard and think long. I recently purchased one of these, I won’t mention the site because I’m an embroidery digitizer. I make products that the personalized gift vendors sell and incredibly, those guys could be one of my customers! However, this website, that I found somehow, were quick to take my money , but customer satisfaction was not their strong point. It turned out that many people were complaining about this store, but since I did not look at the online reputation of the store, I didn’t find out until it was too late. It was a hard lesson to learn…my advice is don’t trust a company just because they have a website and ask friends. It’s only your friends who have no vested interest in the decisions you make. Anyways, I digress… The gift I purchased was personalized just for me and not only do you need to order this stuff in advance, some of these people (and I use that temr loosely) they really put barriers in front of your satisfaction when there’s a flaw. So, be very precise about… 1. Give them exact spelling right from the start and 2. Order enough in advance so that a flaw can be corrected. And Oh!..one more.. 3. Call customer service with a question BEFORE you order. Good luck!
